The article on which I have focused this week is a publication from the University of Cincinnati by Kenneth Tankersley, an anthropologist and geologist. He has restudied a 2000 years old pipe sculpture statue and found some startling conclusions. The statue carved on a pipe was found in Ohio and was always thought to be an achondroplastic dwarf. People with achondroplasia have typically short arms and legs, average trunk and an enlarged head. Apart from the statue, actual human remains of native Americans excavated from the same area were also interpreted as being achondroplastic.
